Your pantry inventory, preferences, and scanned images are processed and stored locally on your device whenever possible using on-device storage. Any data sent to our servers for AI processing (via Gemini) is anonymized and not retained for training purposes without your explicit consent.
FreshPlates requires camera access solely for the purpose of scanning barcodes or identifying food items. Images are processed in real-time to extract data (e.g., expiry dates, product names) and are not permanently stored on our servers.
We utilize Google Gemini API for recipe generation. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle API requests. We do not share your personal identifier information (PII) with these services.
